Min Ba'd - Wissam Murad

Label : Artist | Year : 2008

"Min Ba'd, Wissam Murad's first solo CD, has just been released by Sabreen Association for Artistic Development. The CD is a compilation of songs and musical pieces composed by Wissam Murad to lyrics of the late Biram Altunisi. Altunisi's poetry was chosen because of its depth and his close relationship with Sayyed Darwish, Wissam's mentor and source of inspiration. The music created is modern but with a classical perspective. It crosses a lot of boundaries, defies categorization and brings sentiments of the past in contemporary music setting.

The CD, which Wissam has been working on for 3 years, reflects many influences of music and culture. These influences can be observed in the musical composition and the multi instrumentation.

Wissam is a Palestinian musician and a practicing artist. He plays the oud and percussion and has participated and performed in many concerts and festivals, locally and internationally. He is a member of Sabreen Group and his music tells you a story and "a make believe".

Min Ba'd is an art piece nurtured by Sabreen Association for Artistic Development. A non profit organization dedicated to developing music and art in Palestine who sponsored the works of the following artists; vocals, oud and percussion Wissam Murad; Basheer Asadi – violin; Wafa Al Zaghal – Qanon; Shirley Smart – Cello; Oysten Bru Frantzen - Electric and double bass. The sound engineer is Issam Murad, assistant technician Sami Ibrahim, production manager Samer Musaalem, cover design Fares Mansour and photography by Said Murad.

The CD was produced by Sabreen Association for Artistic Development in Jerusalem and at Sabreen Association in Bethlehem." - CDRoots.com
